Government Response to Lotteries Consultation The Government has today (8 July) issued a response to its previous consultation on proposed deregulation of Incidental Non Commercial, Private Society, Work and Residents’ Lotteries.

Relaxation of licensing hours during the FIFA World Cup 2014 ConsultationThe Home Office has today launched a two week consultation on the proposal to relax licensing hours for the England matches in this year’s World Cup. The consultation will run from today until 26 March.

Consultation on proposals to lift certain lottery restrictionsThe DCMS has launched a ‘fast-tracked’ consultation on proposals to lift certain restrictions that applies to certain types of lotteries. 

Following the recent consultation on local set fees, the Home Office has announced details of a number of free workshops to explore the implications of the consultation on introducing locally set licensing fees.

- Portfolio holders and Chairs of Licensing Committees

- Licensing officers

- Fee-payers

- Licensing lawyers

 

Consultation on Abolition of Personal Licences The Government has launched a consultation on the future of personal licences today.  It is of the opinion that the current system of personal licences may not always be the most proportionate or effective way to ensure alcohol is sold responsibly.
